CHONGQING – A Croatian delegation consisting of Zadar Airport representatives and CSEBA members is visiting the People’s Republic of China to continue preparations for direct flights from Chongqing, China, to Zadar, Croatia.
During the visit the Croatian delegation continued negotiating the establishment of direct flights to Croatia. DC Travel agency has already prepared travel arrangements for the Chinese market based on previous discussions and on a study visit by Chinese tour operators to Croatian destinations. Since the project is strongly supported by both governments, Croatian Tourism Ministry and the National Tourist Board, the delegation and its Chinese partners have once again tried too speed up the removal of administrative barriers and obtain permits which form the basis for the establishment of direct links. The direct links are necessary if Croatian tourist destinations want to attract more Chinese tourists.

Apart from a coordinated offer of travel arrangements, Croatia needs to promote itself in China as a new, desirable destination.

“Croatia is still unknown to Chinese travellers. A shopping offer is crucial for their interest,” Chinese partners said.

Next big issue on the agenda is the visa issue. Chinese travellers need a visa to enter Croatia. As far as shopping destinations are concerned, DC Travel and CSEBA are discussing a possible travel arrangement which would include Croatia as a main destination and daily shopping excursions to Venice, Vienna and Paris. CSEBA has prepared the interconnecting air flights.
