Herak will perform the function at no charge. The appointment was preceded by the approval of Prime Minister Andrei Plenkovic.

Ivan Herak, former Minister of Tourism in the Government of Zlatko Mateša, returns to the Ministry he headed from 1999 to 2000 with a new position.

He is currently a member of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Tourism, most recently a professor at the Swiss School of Business in Geneva, teaching undergraduate doctoral studies at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, and is an advisor to the Chinese Southeast European Business Association (CSEBA).
