ZAGREB - The earthquakes that hit Petrinja and its surroundings in recent days, and caused great casualties and huge material damage, have prompted numerous reactions around the world.

SEEbiz also brings reactions from the People's Republic of China, ie the prestigious Silk Road Chamber of International Commerce (SRCIC). SRCIC sent a letter of condolences to the Chinese South East European Business Association (CSEBA), ie its President of the Presidency Mario Rendulić.

- I am deeply saddened by the news that a magnitude 6.3 earthquake hit central Croatia near its capital Zagreb, causing great damage to the hardest hit city of Petrinja, which also caused human casualties. On behalf of SRCIC, I would like to express my deepest condolences to you and the families of the victims. We pray that you stay strong and rebuild your life after the destruction. The quake adds more suffering to the already critical situation caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. This is a challenging period for Croatia, but the Croatian people are very resilient and will be able to recover and progress in the shortest possible time. We are convinced that President Milanović and the Croatian government will manage the crisis well, say SRCIC.

- SRCIC and I will always be with you. At the end of this year, we wish your country and the people who suffer peace, happiness and great prosperity, concludes SRCIC President Lu Jianzhong in a letter.
