Zagreb Majorettes explain that they received an invitation to participate in the festival, which will take place from October 29 to November 9, after Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang's visit to Croatia, according to the daily.

They add that the festival is being organized as part of the celebration of Nanchang, the city of heroes and the headquarters of the Chinese Army. More than 5,000 musicians and dance groups have participated in the five editions of the festival so far since 2006.

"As part of the tour, we will be performing in Beijing and on the Great Wall of China. The main concert of the festival is broadcast live by Chinese Central Television (CCTV) as well as a dozen other television stations from China and Hong Kong, said Alen Šćuric, director of Zagreb Majorettes, noting that the festival also follows a number of other media.

He also points out that Zagreb Majorettes are the only group from Croatia that is invited to the festival and will represent Croatia as well as Europe as an official part of Zagreb, Vecernji List reports.
