KRAPINSKE TOPLICE - The Southeast European Business Association (CSEBA), in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, the Croatian Tourist Board, the Municipality of Krapinske Toplice and the international association "Putevima Marka Pola", organized 1st Silk Road Tourism Workshop on the 5th and 6th of February at the Villa Magdalena Hotel in Krapinske Toplice. |
The workshop was attended by representatives of Chinese travel agencies from various parts of China - from Beijing, Shanghai and Zhejiang Province as the most important source tourism market in NR China. Secretary of State in Ministry of Tourism Frano Matušić has been actively working for strengthening the Sino-Croatian ties for a year, and in his speech he particularly mentioned the importance of further promotion of Croatia as a tourist community on the Chinese market. Good political relations play an extremely important role in this sense. Bai Xue from Global Tour International Travel Service spoke about his experiences of bringing Chinese tourists to Croatia and Southeast Europe. He is known for bringing the first organized group of Chinese tourists to our region in 2010. Bai was also the main star of the panel, "The Chinese Market - Tips for Croatia", in which he responded to numerous questions from the workshop participants. Chinese people, as he said, are particularly fascinated by the relaxed way of life in Croatia. Gu Xiaoyu from Jiaxing Holiday International Travel Service spoke about co-operation between tourist agencies in PR China and Southeast Europe. Song Tianyi from Ningbo Tourism Development Commission focused on marketing and advertising models in the Chinese market. He spoke in detail about promoting a tourist destination through Chinese social networks (WeChat, Weibo). Given the lack of knowledge of Chinese social networks, this is a huge task that stands before domestic tourist operators. But it can be expected that after this workshop things will start to change even in that context. Brizenice Bay is one of the most attractive tourist projects in Croatia. Beckett Tucker from this company has presented this gorgeous project that this autumn will get their first contours. Of course, account is taken of the increased arrival of Chinese tourists to Hvar, and CSEBA will play an active role as well. Darko Prebežac from the Faculty of Economics in Zagreb "supplied" the participants with a series of information relevant to Chinese tourists, their habits, needs and customs. Chinese tourists are demanding, but they are also bigger consumers. Most importantly, the potential of the Chinese market is unmistakable. Marija Opačak spoke about the effective creation of a travel program for Chinese tourists. She stressed the many specifics of Chinese tourists who must be aware of all those who want to host them in their tourist facilities. Among other things, do not be surprised if a Chinese tourist asks for a glass of hot water or if he protests because he did not like him in the hotel room when. Matej Balen from the China-South East European Business Association (CSEBA) spoke of the most important tourist markets in China. Given his experience of participating at numerous tourist fairs in the PR China, it was interesting to hear his recommendations to domestic tourists. The participants agreed that this workshop was a great opportunity for the presentation of Chinese agencies, which should ultimately result in the creation of more quality tourist products for Chinese tourists. Encouraged by the success of the workshop, CSEBAs announce new similar events not only in Croatia but also in the region by the end of this year. |
